Technology
Gasera has developed new technologies to overcome drawbacks in common measurement solutions.
Patented cantilever enhanced photoacoustics
Gasera has been able to overcome drawbacks in common measurement solutions through the development of cantilever enhanced photoacoustics. This technology improves on Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) principles to meet the demands of the modern measurement market.
Our aim is to develop portable measurement devices with extremely high sensitivity, good selectivity and a fast response time for reliable analysis of gases, liquids and solid samples alike in demanding environments.
Gasera’s patented cantilever enhanced photoacoustics is a novel state of the art measuring technology that can be used in the detection and analysis of gases, liquids and solid materials in many applications and fields such as research, industry, environmental, safety and security.
Photoacoustic spectroscopy
The photoacoustic effect was discovered by Alexander Graham Bell in 1880 during his research to develop the photophone, a device that transmits speech on a beam of light. From its first demonstrations to being put into practical use with real utility has taken approximately a hundred years.
The major advantage of the photoacoustic effect is the fact that the sensitivity is much less dependent on the optical path length, as compared to other conventional methods. This allows for high sensitivity from a short absorption path length and a much more linear concentration response over a wide dynamic measurement range even from very low sample volumes. Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) is now a commonly used method for the analysis of solid, semi-solid, liquid and gas samples.
